Choosing a New Headshot
I always struggle with using real pictures of myself online — for the longest time, this was my Twitter avatar (called “frogse” as a file name):
Eye-catching, no? Recently I’ve decided that I need something a BIT more true to life, without being an actual photograph. So a former student of mine and massively talented illustrator, Marlowe Dobbe, created this portrait for me:
I love it — it’s fun and whimsical and gives people a little more to go on than a frog puppet holding his butt open. This is the biggest concession to professionalism I’m willing to make as a comedy writer. WE ALL MUST GROW UP AT SOME POINT.
